How to Create a TRC20 Wallet – Step-by-Step

Creating a TRC20 wallet is a simple process that takes less than five minutes. This guide walks you through every step, from downloading the app to securing your recovery phrase.

Step 1: Choose Your Wallet App

Select a reputable wallet that supports TRC20 and the TRON network. Look for wallets that are open-source, non-custodial, and actively maintained. The wallet should support USDT TRC20 natively and allow you to export or import your seed phrase.

Step 2: Download and Install

Download the wallet from the official website or from your device's app store. Always verify you are downloading from the legitimate source — check the official website URL and look for verified developer badges. Avoid third-party download sites.

Step 3: Create a New Wallet

Open the app and choose "Create New Wallet." The app will generate a unique 12 or 24-word seed phrase (also called a mnemonic or recovery phrase). This phrase is the master key to your wallet — write it down on paper and store it somewhere safe offline. Never take a screenshot or store it digitally.

Step 4: Verify Your Seed Phrase

Most wallet apps will ask you to verify your seed phrase by entering specific words in order. This step ensures you have correctly written down the phrase before proceeding. Take your time and double-check each word.

Step 5: Add USDT TRC20 Token

Once your wallet is set up, navigate to the token section and search for "USDT TRC20" or manually add it using the TRON network USDT contract address. Your wallet is now ready to send and receive USDT on the TRON network.

Step 6: Fund Your Wallet

To send TRC20 tokens, you will need a small amount of TRX in your wallet to cover network bandwidth and energy fees. Typically 10–20 TRX is sufficient for hundreds of USDT transfers. Purchase TRX from an exchange and send it to your TRON wallet address.

Step 7: Set Up Security

Enable biometric authentication (fingerprint or Face ID) if available. Set a strong PIN or password for the app. Consider enabling additional security features such as transaction confirmation prompts and address whitelisting.
